Can you fly to Cooktown?
Yes, please contact the local airline Hinterland Aviation – they are currently flying 7 days a week from Cairns. www.hinterlandaviation.com.au

Do you offer an airport shuttle?
Yes, we are only 3km from the airport, please email bookings@paperbarkretreat.com.au if you would like to add this to your booking.

How long can we stay?
We currently have a 2 night minimum stay.
Please email bookings@paperbarkretreat.com.au if you would like to book for longer than 7 days.

What time is check in / check out?
Check in time is 2:00pm and Check out is 11:00am.

Are the rooms serviced daily?
Rooms are only serviced if your stay is more than 1 week. Services are available at an additional fee if required within the week.

Are there kitchen facilities?
Paperbark Retreat does NOT offer kitchen facilities for guests. Breakfast is included in the room rate and additional meals can be ordered and will incur an extra charge.

Is Paperback Retreat pet-friendly?
Due to the location of the retreat it is not advised to bring pets. Please email specific pet requests through to bookings@paperbarkretreat.com.au

Is Paperback Retreat family-friendly?
To ensure peace and tranquilty the retreat is ADULTS ONLY please email any further enquries to bookings@paperbarkretreat.com.au

What is your smoking / vaping policy?
Paperbark Retreat has a NON SMOKING / VAPING policy within all rooms, on the verandah and within the pool area / gazebo.
Guests found to have smoked in the units will automatically incur a penalty of initially $50 followed by the cost incurred for any damage.

What if we break something?
We understand that accidents happen, please let us know if something appears broken. If we find the room has been left in a less than reasonable condition and a major clean is required, or damage has occurred, a rectification fee will apply. This fee starts from $100 and the final cost will be dependent upon work required.

What is your payment policy?
A credit card is required at the time of booking to secure your room.

What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy depends on the dates of your stay.

Cancellation during Low Season:
Free cancellations alloved until 24 hours prior to arrival, late cancellations incur the cost of the first night.
Cancellation during High Season:
Free cancellations allowed until 5 days prior to arrival, late cancellations and no-shows are charged for the
High season dates are as follows:

01.05.24 – 30.09.24
20.12.24 – 04.01.25
01.05.25 – 30.09.25
19.12.25 – 03.01.26

No Show:
For no show/appearance, full accommodation charge will be deducted.
